We have two similar chat apps their purpose are the same but one is mainly focused for business point of view and second for gamers.
Slack is like a chatroom for the team it’s purpose was for organizations so that they can communicate easily. While on the other hand Discord was and is used to communicate while playing games together. Up till now both apps has added much functionality that you cannot prefer one over the other.
But still we will discuss some of the key differences here:
- Discord has unlimited message limit while slack is limited in free plan.
- Screen sharing is free in discord while in slack you must have a paid plan.
- Slack has 1gb of file upload limit while discord hai 8mb in free and 50mb in paid plans.
- Discord has push to talk feature.
- Discord has unlimited storage while slack has 5gb in free plan and upto 20gb in paid.
We have summarized both of the application and there is no major advantage over the other in my opinion both apps are very much well defined in their own areas. If you have a proper organization and you are willing to spend on getting extra features then Slack is the option for you or if you are a casual gamer or a small organization or group of freelancer’s you should definitely go for Discord, in the end if you choose one over the other i think you won’t get disappointed.
